First things first.

I'm going fishing again. That means I've got a butt-load of stuff to un-load before I leave on Thursday. I'll be home in September or whatever, for a bit.

The following must go:

Table and Chairs. 2 matching chairs, two mismatched chairs. The sides fold up to make it rectangular/round. I paid $150. Make an offer. I'll take what I can get. If you really want it, just pick it up.

I've got some floor lamps, an end table, some plants that Sebastian liked to eat, and assorted kitchen stuff, like pots, pans, and whatever. This is the "I've got some assorted junk you might want, so ask me what I have" photo.

IKEA Chair and thinger. Normally these things come apart, this one however is held together with skateboard bushings. It's still comfy, I'd keep it if I weren't moving to T.O. It has quite a bit of cat hair on it, but with enough notice, I'd be happy to give it a wash. Make an offer, or tell me you'll pick it up.

T.V with no remote. I paid Roggler $150 for it a few years ago. That means it's yours for whatever you'll give me. The bar cart thing is kind of neat, it has a serving tray, I got it during my antiquing phase. I paid something for it. I can't keep it. Same as everything else, offer, or just pick it up.

The remnants of my cd collection. I counted 60, there's definitely loads more around the apartment. Tried to sell them. Included are some TIME photo specials, 411 34 and Mike V's Stand Strong. Give me money, or just take them.

This book shelf was a really solid back alley find. It lacks in vertical compliance, meaning that it likes to lean, but I never really gave it a proper tightening. Free if you pick it up, $5 will get you some books that you'll never read.

Desk and Chair. Basically same deal. I would take a bit of bread for them, but if you want them bad enough to pick them up, they're yours. Yes, I will throw in the 50's Princess Phone.

Poplar Point is a god-send when you can only pedal 500m at a time because you're so damned cold and can't maintain a heightened heart rate.

This one is pretty good if you're interested in European history. It's nice when a baby-boomer calls out his generation for being totally bogus and irrelevant. Otherwise, it's cool because there is a lot of discussion of Tito's Yugoslavia. You're psyched right?

If you're looking for an excuse to be racist and just happen to be upper-middle class, Dutch, European, homo-sexual or just plain not a practicing beleiver of one Islamic religion or another, you'll probably like this. Remember, they're pre-enlightenment and poor. That makes you better than them. And yes, it's okay to call them Goat-fuckers on National Television because you're rich and have rights and it's your country. Theo Van Gogh is dead and I'm glad.

Ward Churchill is probably my favourite non-fiction writer. He just doesn't fuck around too much and calls bullshit on the American left for being a bunch of cry babies. I just sort of like radical anthropology or whatever. Buy guns, we're going to need them.

It won't surprise anyone when I say I liked this one.

But it was so good that it made me buy this. It was really disapointing.

In terms of all-time disapointments, I think I have new winner. Totally un-readable.

After years of refusing to buy a new edition of practically anything, I broke down and bought a Bukowski book. At first I was really disapointed, but it pretty much came through in the end. There were just a lot of sub-par anecdotes in between. But I think that's the point. Check it out, it's not bad.

I really thought I was on my way to having a new one in the top five list, but once they get off the river it kind of falls apart. That Tom Sawyer kind of kills the whole thing. Yet, the first 200 pages or so are incredible. If someone wants to pay me to travel down rivers I would be cool with that.

So, since it was really nice out tonight, I decided I needed to go for a bike shred. It was really nice. Pictures are sparse and bad, but live with it.

Apparently this is the ______ building. It's kind of a big deal or something?

Objects of My Affection

I know it has been a while, but what do you want from me?

This one is pretty scattered for a plethora of reasons.

Getting robbed means I got blog rights, so here's the tail end of South America.

More old ass bones..

Over our last India lunch and beers, there were some foxy French girls. Where were they the whole time?

To the airport we went.

Just for futre reference, know that $12 will not get two people out of the airport. Getting your airport hustle on may sound like fun, but when you're drunk, broke and don't speak Spanish, it's not so cool. It costs $40 a head.

We got to hang out in Columbia just late enough and not long enough to get stamped in.

Then it was sleepy time because Tom's magic little pills were magic.
This is the part of the blog that would have been hillarious to document. I missed the flight because of bogus boarding passes and because I needed a latte. Bram missed the flight because he had narcotics grade cocaine all over his person and stuff. Funny? You bet.

It might be time to retire the Sailor Suit. Apparently its charms have worn out.

But the remedy still works.

There was more to that party than my birthday, though somehow I only have photos of myself.

Skip passed Christmas where all I did was eat tomato basil Havarti, play my brother's XBox 360, drink too many wine spritzers and decide I cannot handle children. Oh, and I missed another flight.

It was a pretty epic bro affair that should have been blogged more appropriately. I got hella drunk at any rate.

These brothers were there. Both epic dudes, one mom? Impossible.

And Jeremy was there with his hot friend Chantelle who I should have blogged.

But most importantly, this guy was there.

Then it was basically New Year's Eve, which is pretty impossible to get excited about. But it was okay. At least I looked okay after shaving that beard and stache combo.

After a better than expected dinner, we went to the Lyndsey's which was cool, then the Pyramid that looked like this..

But it was passable because Tara was there..

And Scott was epic'ing, though he is not the champ.

Our Suffering is Complicated.

I said that a week ago or something in reference to why listening to The Smiths makes us cooler than anyone that listens Alanis Morrissette. Its relevance extends far beyond Morrissey, though I don´t care to explain it.

If you will recall, I had pretty much run out of money in Chile for a 4 day weekend. Mint-chocolate chip ice cream bars helped me to persevere.

I began to develop a lolita complex so I beat it back to Peru, where I did this quite a bit.

But I went out a few times to get food.

This is ¨Montreal¨Cafe, they didn´t have poutine.

Boredom manifesting itself as art.

Pedestrian streets increase loneliness. But they usually have good coffee.

Arrequipa was just another city with a crazy colonial centre.

For all of my shit-talk, sometimes magic happens. Even in Peru.

Pretty intense Chalba spot.

I worked up the motivation to go to the Museum of Contemporary Art. It was pretty belly of the worm. But this stuff wasn´t so bad.

This was actually not art, I just blogged it for Bramwell.

But these 2 are so art..

I had a stop-over in Lima so I got a room so I could have a shower. Hostel San Francisco has the best shower´s in South America.

And they have monkey extinguishers.

I´m pretty tired of anything that looks like this.

Contrary to what Bram says, nothing cool happens on the bus. I suppose I did get robbed for $400, but that isn´t interesting to anyone. Besides, I don´t have any photos to back it up.

I spent the last two afternoons at the plaze del torros. Yes watching bullfights. I wouldn´t call it fun, but I would say it is one of the more interesting events I have paid for. Like everything else, Hemmingway has this to say about them:

Take me anywhere, I don´t care, I don´t care, I don´t care...

First things first, check this out. It´s one of the best things I´ve seen in a bit.

After this I´ll be all caught up blow-wise; I´m thinking that might be a big releif.

The world´s deadliest road was fun, but somewhat bogus. I´m glad I was in a small group because the bigger groups were really slow, I was allready riding the brake as it was. But anyway, this is the start..

I promise there is a Jesus statue in their somewhere..

Our guide Christophe was the least annoying of all guides.

The first hour of the ride is asphalt. You don´t need a break, but my hand hurt afterwards from using it..

One hand at 45km/h feels sketchy on a wonky wheel. Quick release sucks..

You can´t ride through the tunnel anymore. I think a bunch of Jewish people probably died or something. Note: Jewish tourists love south Peru. Every time you hear a story about someone dying doing something touristy they were Jewish. No I´m not anti-semitic.

I sincerely apologize for my incessant promising of, but lack of producing blogs. I wrote one out the last time, it´s just that blogger was down by the time I finished the code. Sorry.

This goes back awhile; I´m sorry about my lack of enthusiasm, I´m pretty tired of rocks and living in postcards and like that.

After our less than satisfying stint in Lima, Bramwell and I decided that sandboarding at the real Cancun was the best idea. We basically sunned ourself by that pool for 2 days.

The soccer pitch/landfill next door makes for a good half-frame/illustration of the stark difference between tourist facilities and how people really live out here.

Bram caught a sense of humour on this dune.

Bramwell and I broke up on this day. I went off to Puno and got myself the nicest room in town. It had a table.

I stumbled into this very cool lefty collective cafe/alpaca goods place.

It was in a 400 year old hacienda.

And their less than one dollar Alpaca burger was the best burger I have had in South America.

These trees are supposed to look like wangers, but they don´t anymore.

Because of inclimate weather and laziness it took me 3 days and getting lost to manage to make my way to the shores of Lake Titticaca.

Probably the best part of this trip so far. After charging this cobbley hill.

I guess the locals were pumped on me dodging German tourists and ferrel dogs. On my walk back up I received many kind words and requests to do it again. For the first time in South America I didn´t feel like a total vampire.

But since I´m living in the lap of luxury I couldn´t appease them and had to beat it out of town on this bus.

Oh, but I saw the church from the bus.

La Paz is a very cool place.

I said I would so I am.

This back to back blogging thing was supposed to be really cool, but I guess some of my photos didn´t upload so all you get to see is Lima.

I told most of you that Lima was pretty cool. Aside from the food it was. Like the streets in central Lima are lined with the craziest old buildings. Oh and there was a pretty girl working at our hostel but nobody blogged her, but her boyfriend was into Suicidal Tendencies so aside from her liking Brian Adams she´s the best looking girl in Peru..

See what I mean about the streets. They are so cool that Bram can´t even make them un-cool..

Oh yeah, and there are insane churches everywhere.

Basically I´m just going to come out and say it; if you´ve been inside South American churches and still think organized religion is cool, you are a total asshole. No one needs that much gold or hand carved wood or insane paintings or... What does any of that have to do with God. Go die..

The showers were so good that we lost a soldier. 1 travel beard down..

Two more days with this butthole then it´s hasta la vista baby for 4 weeks or something. Moms don´t worry we´re very strong men and will be fine on our individual hell rides..

One of the craziest things about Lima is that there are about 1000 ruin sites, none of which seem very interesting and most of them have really bad restaurants next door..

There are hella dead bodies in that church.. These are the view from our rooftop terrace which was a pretty good place to brood and drink beer all day.

This roof looked like it got bombed, then rebuilt.

And for some reason most of the roofs have fences..

I´ve Got a Long Way to go and Getting Further Away

Everything Means Nothing to Me.

It works like a choose your own adventure novel, just that you choose the title according to how you wish I felt, then I give you the adventure. I know it has been about a month; for that I´m sort of a little sorry, but travelling blogging isn´t really that good of a party.

So before we left Quito, we lost some soldiers. Namely tools.

10 full days in Quito and this is the sickest whip we saw..

The bus ride to Papallacta was cool. Mostly because we didn´t want to stab each other in the neck yet..

And things started to look kind of crazy..

It was almost as if they didn´t even like volleyball anymore..

And the houses got really nice..

The Vacation is On..... Trying to Die...

Sorry I don´t blog as much as Bram. Making myself homesick isn´t what my vacation is about. Anyway, we´re off to the jungle for a Marlowish adventure. We plan to test the limits of human sanity spending something like 10 days in a little jungle canoe, sleeping in hammocks. I promise I´m going to eat about 1000 Pirhanna.. So if you don´t hear from us in 3 weeks.. Well my Mom´s getting the postcard; she´ll know what to do..

So before we left.. Cousin´s was closed. We´re very sorry. Thanks if you came out and kept us up way too late anyway..

End of the Pier, End of the bay you tug my arm and say......

So I haven't gone nuts yet. No stabbings or anything like that. Some people stole a bunch of liquor the other night and got themselves sent home though. All of the fun in my job was wrested from me today. In the beginning they told me to do what I wanted, yesterday they put the hammer down and put me on a rotation. That's okay though, I can probably save 3-4 hours/day now, which means I'll work about 6.. That works out to 20 some dollars an hour. Got paid 1700 beans for 10 days... HA!! I miss my bike, I miss skateboarding and some people... blah.. anyway... Check out what's been happening..

I thought this was the start of a new mega project. They just needed to take the seat out of one of the planes to haul some freight. I was thinking bear cart.. nope..

At home He's a Tourist...

So I'm in my own little Tinker Creek, way up north hanging out with people that love the crap out of fishing. Pretty insane stuff. I almost missed this one. Bram kind of slept through his alarm, we wound up waiting forever. First propellored plane ride. I'm gonna go out and land on water sometime before I come home..

This is what I looked like after working 36ish of my first 48 hours in camp. We're down to about 25 people in camp now, it was 65 when I got here. That's 65 breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Pretty hard when you have no idea where things are or what there is.. I have things wired now, I worked about 7 hours today.

Here's my review..

"Stick It" pretty much rules. Not only because Jesse Fritsch is in it

but because Danny Way does this insane line off the roof, onto the slide, launches a backside-three onto the waterfall, then bails an invert..

The skating and bmxing scenes are probably the low point of this fine piece of cinema.

But there are yummy mommies for dudes who are into that garbage.

And there were some pretty cool shots against all red backgrounds that would have looked really good in Rocky IV.

Not to mention that this girl is pretty much a babe, at least if you pretend you are back in high school.. She had some pretty bad ass shirts.. Black Flag..

I actually 95% quit my job yesterday. I guess this stuff kind of happened between then and now.
